Chirp uses a hybrid offline strategy combining mesh networking, strategic repeater placement, and satellite fallback. Staff carry small, affordable mesh devices that pair with their phones via Bluetooth — messages hop through the network and sync to the cloud when connectivity returns. Emergency alerts are always prioritized for delivery, even in the most remote areas.
Chirp costs $1 per camper per month, based on the max campers you expect on-site at once — not total enrollment across sessions. There are no per-user fees, no hidden costs, and no features locked behind higher plans — every camp gets the full platform. Our pricing is published transparently on our pricing page, no sales calls required.
Chirp offers a sleep mode for seasonal camps. You can pause your account once per year during your off-season and pay a reduced hosting fee to keep your camp's data stored and ready. When your next session begins, everything is right where you left it.
Chirp's setup process is built directly into the app and designed to be fast and painless — no outside tools or technical setup required (if you can use a smartphone, you can set up Chirp).
