This page explains how to request deletion of your Chirp account and the personal information associated with it, what data is removed, what is retained for legal and safety reasons, and how long the process takes. It supplements Section 11.2 (Account Deletion) of our Privacy Policy.
Chirp is a camp management platform operated by Chirp ("we", "us", "our"). User accounts in Chirp belong to Camp Administrators and Counselors ("Staff"). Campers do not have user accounts and do not log in — their information is stored as a profile record managed by the Camp.
You may request deletion of your Staff account in any of the following ways:
Open the Chirp mobile app and tap Settings → Request Account Deletion. Chirp will open your device's email composer with a prefilled message addressed to hello@chirp.camp containing your account name and email. Review and send the message; we will process the request as described under Timeline below.
If you cannot access the app, send an email to hello@chirp.camp from the email address registered on your Chirp account, with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Include in the body:
Because Chirp accounts are provisioned by Camps, your Camp's Administrator can remove your Staff account directly from the Chirp admin console. This is typically the fastest method. Contact your Camp's main office or director and ask them to remove your account from User Management → Profiles in the Chirp app.
Upon a verified deletion request, the following data is deleted or anonymized:
Some information may be retained after your account is deleted. Each retention reason is required either by law, by Camp safety operations, or by the contract Chirp has with the Camp Customer that provisioned your account.
Parents and guardians are not Chirp users. Phone numbers and email addresses listed on a camper profile for emergency-contact purposes are not Chirp accounts and cannot be deleted through this page.
To remove your contact information from a camper profile, contact the Camp directly and ask the Administrator to remove or update your contact record. To stop SMS messages immediately, reply STOP to any Chirp-delivered emergency SMS message (see our SMS Consent & Disclosure page).
To request deletion of information stored about your child, please contact your child's Camp directly. Chirp acts as a service provider to Camps and will assist in fulfilling parent deletion requests received through a Camp.
If your Camp Customer's subscription with Chirp has ended, your account may already be inaccessible. You may still email hello@chirp.camp to confirm the status of your data and request permanent erasure of any residual records.
Deactivating a Camp's subscription is not the same as deleting individual accounts. If your goal is to stop being billed, please contact your Camp Administrator about subscription changes. If your goal is to remove your personal data, follow the instructions on this page.
Residents of California, the EU/UK/EEA, and several U.S. states have additional rights described in our Privacy Policy, including the right to access, correct, port, or restrict processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@chirp.camp. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
